A Very Floral Fête, Aria’s Baptism Celebration

A Very Floral Fête is very fitting for this floral infused Baptism celebration for adorable baby Aria in Michigan, with shabby chic details, lots of pretty pink mini garden roses and different green textures!  We first ventured off to Michigan to do an event with fresh floral two years ago to put together Zoi’s Picture Pomegranate Perfect Baptism Celebration, and this time we decided to not only bring some fresh floral but to also bring some wonderful large fresh branches to give the room some height!

By now, you figured out how much we LOVE, LOVE, LOVE details so we kicked off the custom boxed invitations with a burlap wrapping and a delicate white paper flower with a pearl center.  The little floral detail was carried over to the place cards, table numbers and glassware vessels. The pearl necklaces were added for a touch of girly shabby chic feel and of course all the different milk glass vases and mercury holders added to the whole overall eclectic feel.

The pretty pink linens and the white chiavari chairs transformed the room to a wonderful garden setting.  Since we used boxed invitations, we ended up using more boxes to create risers on the tables and the little wooden numbers were just the perfect touch.  The floral coordinated with the room perfectly and all the candles created a soft glow as the evening progressed.

The long head table was of course center of attention with two large tall floral and branch pieces in silver mercury vases with a continuation of floral arrangements in different shabby chic pieces, including two tiered vintage like cake stands. The fresh wooden pieces were found throughout the room that even the smallest votives had a piece to go with it!

We’ve had the pleasure of working with our good friends, Maria and Adoni, for all three of their children’s Baptisms and we have to say they not only make adorable babies but they are the sweetest, most kind little ones anyone can ask for!  With big sister Tiffany and big brother Sam, we know Aria is one lucky girl to have such wonderful siblings. Maria and Adoni, thank you for trusting us with our moving caravan of props, ideas and work.  Our friendship means the world to us and your support is greatly appreciated!

We wish everyone a very happy weekend and check back next week for more pretty parties!

Lemon Yellow, George’s Baptism Celebration

Lemons in the event design? Yes, please!! This Lemon Yellow event was put together for baby George’s Baptism Celebration and we can’t even begin to tell you how much fun we had using all the natural elements like tall fresh branches, pretty yellow and white floral arrangements, and lots and lots of lemons provided by George’s wonderful Mom, Michelle.  We’ve had the pleasure of working with Michelle before, Engagement Party and Bridal Shower, and we were beyond honored to design and work on this event for her adorable and sweet baby boy!!

We kicked off the event with bright yellow custom invitations with a layer of blue and a natural looking wood backing.  For the envelope liners we went with a lemon print and of course coordinated the table number frames to match. The welcome table was made up a beautiful tall arrangement with lots of different green textures and pops of yellow.  The place cards were shaped like a lemon leaf and attached to a fresh lemon making it for a fun and unexpected entrance piece.

The tall pieces throughout the room added great height, while the long rectangular tables had a very linear design with tall white lanterns, adorned with blue and yellow ribbons, cylinders filled with lemons and lots and lots of candles going down the center of the table. The cutest little kids table was made up of adorable tiny chairs and simple floral pieces in the center.

The head table was made up of fresh greenery, hanging candles and beautiful yellow garden roses.  Our signature look of smaller, continuous pieces down the center of the table were made up of floral arrangements, lemon filled glass cylinders and candles, of course, making it for a full table design while not obstructing the view of the guests.

The celebration also included a gorgeous cake by The Baking Institute, we absolutely love their designs and their natural & delicious ingredients, for George’s lovely Grandmother!  How sweet is that?? Happy Birthday Vaso xoxoxo!

We wish baby George and his family congratulations on his special day!! We love you guys! Here’s to the wonderful ‘heat wave’ we are having here in Chicago:)

Hautest Hosts, serving up some great hosting tips!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We are so thankful for so many things this year and we can’t believe the time has come for one of our most favorite holidays!  Not only for the feast we are about to enjoy later this afternoon but for the purpose behind this holiday.  We are grateful and thankful every single day that we are healthy, happy and most of all surrounded by family and friends.  With that being said, we can’t not share some Hautest Hosts photo inspirations for your table design today!

This past year we had the opportunity to partner with Crate & Barrel, one of our favorite stores and Loverly! It was not only an awesome event to be part of, but we were able to meet some amazing vendors like Kara, who captured the event so beautifully, and Elysia, she and her team not only make the most beautiful desserts but they taste out of this world!

So for a successful party we recommend some great beverages, you don’t have to have a bar full of options, try to keep it to a few choices as to not overwhelm yourself. Some copper mugs go beautifully this time of year.

For the decor, floral can be placed down the center of the table like our farm table design photographed.  We kept the floral in the orange family to play off all the pretty rose gold flatware and serving pieces.   We made the floral come down the sides, this is a great accent if you don’t have seating on the ends of the table.  If you are making a larger more focal piece, work around the area you will be placing the piece.  In our bakery section, photographed above, we used drooping flowers, like these large tulips, to create a little bit of drama.  Always work with your color palette, dining room, serving pieces and seasonal decor. it makes for another great design layer.

Of course, delicious food, dessert and background music are a must!  Most of all, don’t forget to enjoy yourself, the friends and family that you are hosting, as a hautest hosts, and the time you get to spend with them.

Wishing you all a wonderful holiday and happy hosting!

Pretty Pumpkin Patch, Despina’s Baptism Celebration

When your sister-in-law, Anna, sends you inspiration photos that include different color pumpkins for her daughter’s Baptism celebration, your creative heart skips a beat!  We love incorporating different textures and design details into our events so we painted them pink and gold and a Pretty Pumpkin Patch event design was born.

We used pink, rose gold and gold mercury glassware and candle holders throughout the tables and included gold branches for some height.  The florals were made up of different types of pink roses and mums, since we are in the middle of mum season. Curly willow branches in glass cylinders, used for risers, worked perfectly for the table designs. The dark brown linens added just the right amount of dark fall color with a festive pop of hot pink napkins to complete the whole event design.

For the long family head table, a continuous look of florals and pumpkins were placed down the center with candle holders on either side.  We love a long banquet style table and couldn’t be happier with how this table looked!

The food was so delicious and the whole afternoon was one fun cozy celebration for the cutest baby Despina!  Anna had Freckles the Clown there, she does such an amazing job entertaining the little ones, and also had set up a paint a pumpkin station with some wonderful teacher friends!  A fun time had by all!

Anna and Greg congratulations on your daughter’s special day!  Love you and your girls so much!
