Bright Lights, Big City, Megan and Mark’s Wedding Celebration

Last year we had the pleasure of working with Megan, who lives in San Diego, to put together her and Mark’s Wedding.  Not only was she the sweetest but her event design details were the prettiest!  The wedding took place at City View Loft and we had the pleasure of working with so many wonderful vendors. The view of Chicago from City View Loft is absolutely stunning and we love how all the bright lights in the big city were the perfect backdrop from all the windows.

The color palette was soft, with blush bridesmaid’s dresses, we used fresh lavender for the bouquets and Megan’s bouquet was a medley of soft pinks and touches of greens. Megan looked absolutely gorgeous in her lace gown and the beading detail was just perfection.  The service took place in the downstairs area where we created a beautiful neutral backdrop with hanging twinkling lights provided by YJ Decorating.  We used purple limonium florals in galvanized buckets down the aisle as well as candle pillars in glass cylinders.

Guests found their seats with a cute mason jar mug with their names attached.  Not only a perfect favor but useful too;)  When the guests moved upstairs it was a non-stop party celebration until the end.  The bar had two signature drinks, for any Blackhawk fans out there, The Hossa, an Autumn Manhattan, and The Toewsor, a Cranberry Mule, you can appreciate these.

The tables were farm style tables so we worked with a continuous design with pops of teal and mercury mason jars throughout and all the pretty florals that worked with this lovely palette.  We used lace runners to complete the looks and every place setting had a purple limonium flower on it. Lots of candles added to the soft glow once the evening sky took over.

The DJ, Toast and Jam, rocked out all night in front of another backdrop of twinkling lights and guests not only ate under a string of bistro style lights but danced the night away under them.  The photo booth area was a fun touch with entertaining props that made for great photos and memories of course!

We can’t forget the delicious donut bar by Do-Rite Donuts  We used different glass cake stands to display all the deliciousness and Megan and Mark even fed each other a donut instead of traditional cake, we love when couples have their own style!!

For a late night snack, a small hot dog stand, Hubby’s Dog House was set up and guests could make themselves a Chicago style hot dog to enjoy and re-energize.

These photos are just a glimpse at all the pretty that made up October 2, 2015 and we wish Megan and Mark a wonderful 1st Wedding Anniversary!! We wish you a lifetime of even more laughter, happiness and love! Thank you for working with us!!

PS. We can’t wait to see photos of your beautiful growing family!!

Spectacular Sushi, Teddy’s Baptism Celebration

Nothing makes us happier than a repeat client! When Marina called for us to work together again for her adorable son’s Baptism we were thrilled!  We loved working with her for her daughter’s elegant and girly Seashells and Pearls event a few years back and couldn’t wait to hear what she had in mind for her little guy Teddy!  Everything came together nicely for a kite and pinwheel filled celebration this past July.

We kicked off the event with custom crisp white and blue invitations with kite detail, the color palette would be used throughout the event as well as the kites. We love the chance to create custom invitations on events we are working on, this keeps the whole design esthetic consistent from the start.

Shakou Sushi opened it’s latest location in Park Ridge and we are obsessed!  The room layout and decor is phenomenal and the food is delicious!   For the event, we worked with the team at Shakou to create longer tables for sitting and utilized the booths as well. In the back private room, the buffet was set up for easy access and we created a fun backdrop for the dessert table.  The backdrop included a fun scenic moment with a custom kite and puffy white clouds.  On the dessert table we kept the dessert risers in a clean and neutral color palette of glass, white and sand colored. In the front of the restaurant, a long banquet style table was covered in white paper for kids to draw and enjoy throughout the event.

All the kites and pinwheels were hand made by Angie in different blue and white prints and along with the fresh white hydrangeas, created a very fresh and summer atmosphere throughout the restaurant.  Lots of candles were used throughout the room and we kept the design very narrow as to not obstruct the dining experience.

For the head table the large custom kite was hung from a tall fresh green fixture and down the center of the table we had continuous candles and florals in coordinating vessels.

We wish baby Teddy and his wonderful & beautiful family Congratulations on his special day! Marina, it was a pleasure working with you again:) Have a great weekend everyone!

Lil’ Elegant Elephant, Giorgios’ Baptism Celebration

Sometimes it doesn’t get any cuter than a small white little elephant at each table, don’t you think? Baby Giorgios’ Baptism celebration was one elegant and playful design with beautiful blue hydrangeas, lots of candle light and our favorite, hanging fresh greenery wreaths with touches of elephants throughout.

The event kicked off with the favors doubling up as place cards.  Each place card was adorned with a cute little blue elephant cutout.  We used fresh greenery around a tall fixture to add some height and of course some blue hanging ribbons to coordinate with the ribbon details inside the room.

The head table, in true fashion, one of our most favorite design concepts, is to have a continuous look down the center of the table.  We used lots of candle pillars to add a pretty glow. Behind the head table, we added a large white netting around the cake table to add some height to the dessert table, we had first used this design concept in one of our most favorite baby shower.

The room was made up of four different looks. One look included a pretty white lantern with ribbon detail and blue hydrangeas at the bottom.  We used white and silver planters to hold the fresh hydrangeas.  We LOVE hanging details and the fresh greenery wreaths were a great way to keep with the fresh and simple design but add some height throughout the room.

Not only did we just love how the room turned out but we loved working with Nancy on her son’s baptism.  Nancy, it was truly a pleasure and we wish little Giorgios congratulations on his special day!

Everyone, have a great weekend!

Up, Up & Away, Away Twin Baptism Celebration

Damianos and Christos, are not only adorable but they have the cutest little personalities.  Their smiles alone can melt your heart!  Stella, their mom, wanted a blue and grey color palette hot air balloon themed party and we were excited to put the whole event design together, with lots of hot air balloon details and fresh floral in blues, with greens and fresh succulents.

The welcome table was a large seating chart framed with a small tree fixture placed next to it with fresh floral at the base.  The photos of the twins in their adorable outfits were just the perfect touch to welcome guests to the event.

After the welcome table, guests could take photos with a sky blue backdrop with a large hot air balloon basket!  Having a fun photo backdrop has become a really great way to carry out the event theme or color palette.

The room was divided up with three different looks.  One table design was a set of three metal suitcases, with travel stickers and all, with a floral arrangement coming out of one of the suitcases.  The other table design was made up of a custom hot air balloon with the floral arrangement coming out of the basket.  The last look was made up of 4 large manzanita trees with lots of fresh greenery and a cute custom little hot air balloon.  From the welcome table name flags to the custom flags cut out for each hot air balloon, the triangular shapes were found throughout the room.

Although the room is normally pretty dark, with dark wood and black and white images throughout, we were able to brighten things up with the blue linens and fresh florals.  The sun was shining so the light coming through the glass windows was also oh so perfect for a lovely afternoon celebration.

We wish Damianos and Christos congratulations on their special day! Stella, we love you and thank you for your continued support and friendship!!!

Pop of Citrus

A fun and colorful engagement party celebration, filled with lots of bright florals and pops of fresh citrus fruits, is just the perfect combination for a summer event!  We kicked off the event with a striped sequin table linen that just twinkled in the bright summer sun with baskets filled with fresh oranges with leaf shaped place cards attached.  We had come up with this idea 7 years ago for a very special Bridal Shower and we couldn’t help but use it again!  The cocktail area was on the outdoor terrace overseeing the beautiful grounds at the Park Ridge Country Club.

The table designs stared with elegant sand colored linens, we wanted them to be neural so all the bright arrangements stood out.  Since we were using lots of beach accents- drift wood, sand and rocks, this added to the overall feel of the room.  We also used pops of gold to coordinate with the room.

The flower arrangements were made of different textures-snapdragons, yellow pincushions, spiky thistles, a variety of roses and large fuchsia peonies.  We worked with an orange, pink and yellow color palette with fresh olive branches, fresh mint and two types of green grass. Of course each arrangement had a pop of citrus in it. The olive branches found on each place setting were just the perfect detail to complete the table designs.

We wish Georgia and Vasili a very happy engagement with a lifetime filled with more beautiful celebrations and a lifetime of happiness!

Have a great weekend everyone!
