Bestie Bash, A Valentine’s Styled Shoot

When we were planning this styled shoot we knew we wanted it to be be Valentine’s Day themed and to have a fun vibe so we brought in our favorite twins, Eleni and Debi with their best friend Marina. These three are always making funny dance videos, goofing around and are always enjoying each other’s company, perfect recipe for a great party and quite the Bestie Bash!
The design revolved around our hanging heart fixture. Heart details were found on the girl’s glassware, heart shaped dessert, and heart details on the beautiful cake. We wanted the color palette to be pinks, golds, creams and whites, eliminating the oh so popular red from the traditional holiday decor. We also wanted the party to have a bit of glitz with a sequin white and gold table cloth, gold chargers and the prettiest rose gold candle holders. For an added touch of design we used wooden spools that were wrapped in different ribbons all in our color palette or painted gold.
The girls enjoyed pink strawberry and kiwi lemonade and cake from Madame Gateau, A Cake Boutique. The flowers in a long gold vase consisted of pretty pink tulips, pink calla lilies, pale pink hydrangeas, and mini garden roses. The love sign in front of the vase was the perfect centerpiece to complete this table design.
A couple of fun tips, Party City now carries the prettiest plastic plates that look amazing, we used these and then were so easy to clean up and recycle afterwards. To make the pretty mason jar glasses, just add ribbon and a heart shaped cut out and glue it on, this can be designed to match and coordinate with any themed party.
And of course, the party would not be complete without a bestie selfie!

Purple Love Potion, Matea and Matt’s Wedding

We drank the purple love potion and fell deeply, madly in love with Matt and Matea’s Wedding! When we first met Matea, she had a gorgeous purple and silver color palette picked out and the wedding service and reception was going to take place at Pazzo’s 311 which is just magnificent, I mean look at these photos by Bethany from Maypole Studios, From there we created her deep purple and magenta flower arrangements, met and worked with our favorite lighting and backdrop crew, YJ Decorating, and basically fell in love with everything from her lovely and wonderful personality, which was out of this world and her sense of humor was just perfect, we love brides that have fun during their whole planning process, to the sweetest and most romantic ceremony and heartfelt speeches!  The wedding was a non-stop party and it was hard picking out photos, we love them all!

The personal flowers included, mini dark plum calla lilies with silver eucalyptus details for the groomsmen and wild purple bouquets for the bridesmaids. For the bridesmaids we used different shades of purple long ribbons to create a bit of drama. For the mothers we made small bouquets for them to carry down the aisle.  We love the tradition of the bride and groom walking down with both parents, so sweet and perfect!  Matea’s bouquet consisted of purple and white roses with deep magenta orchids cascading down the front.  Since the bouquet was going to be a big one, we used a pretty silver ornate holder that is the perfect keepsake after the celebration.

For the ceremony we created a cream chuppah with large floral arrangements on either side of the front in large mercury silver vases. Down the aisle, we had large clear vases with floating candles, orchids submerged in water and rose petals along the side of the runner.  For the reception we transformed the space into three looks of large silver manzanita branches with hanging candles, crystals, and orchids in glass domes, to large crystal vases with floral arrangements on top with candles at the bottom and the last look included mercury holders with small floral arrangements in the same color story.  The long head table was filled with tons of candles in different holders intertwined between silver branches and small clusters of floral.

After the service, we took all the bridesmaid bouquets and Matea’s bouquet and placed them on the tall glass cylinders we used down the aisle to be placed behind the head table.  The arrangements and candles created the perfect backdrop on the stairs by the fountain.  Can we talk about the cakes??  The Walking Dead inspired cake has to be the coolest cake we have seen in a while, you know a couple has great fun when they have that cake too!  For the classic wedding cake, Matea had a very simple white cake made and we added orchids around the base and pretty roses throughout the cake.

The lighting transformed the room instantly and we loved how dark and purple-y it was for the dinner and dancing part of the event.  We wish this wonderful couple congratulations and a lifetime of happiness and celebrations!

xoxo,

Yellow Rose of Texas, Hrisoula’s Baptism Celebration

The sun is shining and we are in a cheery mood this morning!  Baby Hrisoula’s pink and yellow Baptism celebration was inspired by her Mom, Katerina’s, pink dessert, tissue pom poms and large balloon inspiration she saw on Pinterest and of the yellow rose of Texas.   Katerina is from Texas and currently lives there with her family.  We were introduced to Katerina and her family through Genia, whose talented sister is couture wedding dress and jewelry designer in Chicago, Victoria Sdoukos, if you are or someone you know is looking for a custom dress for their wedding go see her but I digress, back to the fun and adorable party at hand:)

From the inspiration above, we created a design around the pom poms and color palette at hand.  The flowers we chose and the details we put together were all in circular shapes.  The flowers were made up of cheerful flowers including yellow daisies, round marigolds and large football mums.  When guests walked into the room, they were greeted with a pretty and girly event at hand.  From hanging details to a wonderful array of pink dessert.

The large balloons were used as the backdrop to the head table, with hanging ribbons for added texture.  The long head table was made up of clusters of the fresh flowers in different vessels.  On some of the tables we created a chandelier like cluster of tissue pom poms and paper lanterns, hanging from different ribbons and small butterfly details.  Even the well wishes vase got an uplifting make over with pretty pink and yellow felt ball garland and butterfly details.

The other tables were made up of yellow roses in glass cylinders, tight ball arrangements of yellow button mums on silver containers and glass cylinders with felt ball garland.  Throughout the event pale pink and yellow butterflies were added.  The custom table number frames were made up of pink fabric and lace in silver frames to coordinate with the silver chiavari chairs.

Each place setting had a yellow rose and a small pink organza bag filled with Jordan almonds.  Katerina had found great activities for the little guests to enjoy that we placed in yellow smiley containers on a kid’s activity table.

For dessert, not only was there a make your own sundae bar in a custom “H” container, but a very pink and delicious dessert assortment. We couldn’t help it but add three tissue pom pom ice cream cones above the ice cream table.  Jennifer is the talented pastry chef at Madame Gateau, A Cake Boutique.  She made all the pink desserts as well as the gorgeous cake.  We added our new custom tulle wrapped letters to spell out the guest of honor’s name on the table and our new favorite prop a dessert ferris wheel (kourabiedes have never had so much fun at a party!).

Planning a party from out of State can be stressful but we are so happy that we were able to put this party together for Katerina and her family and hopefully eliminated some of that stress:) Stratos and Katerina it was a pleasure meeting you and your beautiful two kids, congratulations on your daughter’s Baptism! Maybe we will see you in Texas;)

Have a great weekend everyone, think cheerful and happy thoughts!

Curious George goes to a Baptism Celebration

It’s Friday and what a week we’ve had!  We were featured on Kara’s Party Ideas, take a look if you missed it, http://karaspartyideas.com/2016/01/snow-white-inspired-baptism-celebration.html and Be Inspired posted one of our favorite all white head table designs on their IG page:) We appreciate all the likes and shares!!  So with all these pretty girly events posted lately, it was definitely time to give the boys some love!

This little monkey has done it all! He has been to the movies, visited the toy store, played with puppies, helped firefighters, planned a birthday party and all along found some mischief. Curiosity is his game and we all know and love him as Curious George!  When Marisa called us to work with her again for her second son’s Baptism we were thrilled! Her little handsome fellow was going to be Baptised as George and she thought a Curious George theme would be fun for all to enjoy!

We kicked off the event with a table filled with little custom favor boxes with tiny funny monkeys on top. We used books as risers and clusters of fresh red Gerbera Daisies to set the stage.

We decided to create table designs around the adventures featured in the books! From hanging hula hoops, custom large kites, real gold fish, fresh pop corn, sand and clusters of balloons, each table had something fun and different featured on it (or above).

Since the books are brightly colored, we went with vibrant primary colors and made sure the moment you walked in the room the colors stood out with teal table linens, yellow napkins and red/yellow/white florals.

We invite you to explore the photos and see if you can remember reading the book featured on the table! Congratulations to baby George and his family! May you never stop being curious;)

Ooh La La! Stavroula’s Paris Inspired Baptism

Ooh la la! We have Paris on our mind!! Working with Baby Stavroula’s Mom, Angie, was such a treat!  Not only was she super sweet and funny but the whole design process was so enjoyable with so many wonderful details!  We used a light pink and grey color palette, feathers and pearl details and of course pretty pink hat boxes!

The welcome table kicked off with a small Eiffel Tower adorned with pearls, fresh macaroons and hat boxes used not only for risers but also to hold the fresh floral arrangements which were full of full hydrangeas, baby garden roses, beautiful two-tone roses, pink berries and draping greenery.

From there we picked beautiful grey shimmer table linens with pink napkins which worked perfectly in the room with the silver chiavari chairs.  Some of the tables had tall crystal vases with large white ostrich feathers, a pale pink fresh orchid wrapped around the vase coming out of the fresh floral arrangement inside the hat boxes.  We added custom details to each hat box, ribbons, feathers and pearl details to make sure these little hat boxes created special moments on each table.  The other tables had a white vase with white ostrich feathers, hanging crystals and silver Eiffel Towers that Angie had purchased.  The floral arrangements were again nestled in pink hat boxes and hanging pearls were placed over the table number frames.  The last look in the room was the hanging pearl chandeliers to add great height and another level to the design.

The head table had a large Eiffel Tower in the center with fresh floral around it with pink ostrich feathers.  The continuous look of the hat boxes and candles is, of course, our favorite design style and we loved every piece on that table.

The beautiful dessert display by Empress Banquets behind the head table also added another great design element with baby Stavroula’s name front and centered.  To the right of the dessert table we created a small photo area with the props Angie had purchased.  A small cafe table with two chairs for guests to enjoy during the event.

We just want to say congratulations to baby Stavroula and her family.  It was so lovely meeting the whole family! We appreciate the wonderful clients that we get to meet along this amazing journey of design.  Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
